CASITAS PASS: This is a loop beginning and ending at Inside Track in Ventura. Inside Track is located at 38 W Main Street in Ventura. There is parking located behind the store and along side streets.
Approximately 40 miles. The ride heads north along the Ventura river by way of the bike path until we reach Foster Park. Head west and follow Santa Rosa Road all the way to the lake. Turn left on highway 150 and go all the way (past the pigeon poop sign) to Bates road in Carpinteria. Turn left and head down to the freeway. Turn on to the freeway and follow the freeway until you reach the Seacliff exit ramp. Exit and proceed back to Ventura by way of Highway 1. This loop ride has challenging hills, long descents, freeways, and narrow shoulders. Out and back options are available and the following is highly encouraged for beginners. Starting with the group, ride out to the Casitas Lake park entrance. Turn around and come back for about 30 miles.
Level of difficulty: Moderate to advanced. Challenging hills, long descents, and a narrow shoulder make this a challenging ride.
